Immigrate to Canada through the Yukon (YBNP)
Non-Canadian business owners and entrepreneurs can apply to start and manage their business in the Yukon. Make sure you, as the business owner, and your business, are both eligible for the Yukon Business Nomination Program.
Business owner requirements in the Yukon Business Nomination Program
You must meet the following requirements:
Score at least 65 points on the assessment table.
Have at least a high school education. If your business requires higher education, you must provide proof of that education.
Have at least 3 years of experience in business management or entrepreneurship.
Have at least 5 years of work experience related to your business.
Not be a refugee and not actively applying for refugee status with the Canadian government.
Your immigration application has never been rejected by the Canadian government.
Do not actively apply for any provincial or regional programs.
Have a net worth of at least CAD 500,000. Also, have proof and confirmation from a Yukon accounting firm that you have obtained this capital through legal means.
Have at least $300,000 in current assets. This asset includes cash, bonds and liquid assets. You must also provide proof and certification from a Yukon accounting firm that you acquired the property legally.
Intend to be a permanent resident of the Yukon.
Live in the Yukon with your dependents (if any) while operating your business in the Yukon.
Have a job in the 0 or A group of occupations (NOC) in your business.
You have not yet purchased or established your business in the Yukon at the time of application for this program.
Figure out how to invest at least $300,000 in seed capital in the first two years.
This does not include any major investment prior to acceptance into the Yukon Business Select Program.
Big investments include the purchase of business and tools and machines. This investment does not include the purchase of a home, vehicles that are not wholly owned by the business, or maintenance costs.
Business conditions in the Yukon Business Nomination Program
Your proposed business must meet the following conditions:
New business or active continuation of an existing business in the Yukon.
It is your responsibility to manage it.
Investment should not be passive.
Belong to one of the following strategic sectors:
Information Technology
Manufacturing
forestry
Tourism products, services and facilities and attracting tourists
Energy
Mining or mineral development
agriculture
Cultural industries
Film and video production
In the Yukon Business Nomination Program, your proposed business must not belong to one of the following activities and sectors:
Passive investments
Retail, wholesale and distribution of goods
Restaurant
financial services
Personal, business and consulting services
Super professional services
Real estates
Holding companies
gas station
next levels
Applications that meet the requirements for this program will be included in the pool of potential applicants. Your request will be pending for 6 months.
Only the selected applicants of this pool are requested to send their documents to check the accuracy of the information contained in the initial application. If your application meets the requirements, you will be invited for an in-person interview in Yukon.
After this interview, you and your proposed business will be evaluated. If your application is approved, you will receive a two-year work visa from the federal government and you can start your new business in the Yukon. During this time, you are expected to be settled in the Yukon with your family and business.
At the end of the two-year visa period, if you are eligible, you can apply for federal permanent residency.
